Gate Gourmet Members Win a Strong New Contract
Local 1102 Members at Gate Gourmet have won a strong new contract after 7 years of stalled negotiations.
We fought hard to get this done and we could not be more proud of all who were involved. Our members stayed strong to ensure that would receive an outstanding contract, showing how powerful a union can be.
2024 Paulette Fialkoff-Amodeo Scholarship recipients
Every year, Local 1102 offers a scholarship to members, their spouses, and their children that are currently attending a college or university.
We recently hosted scholarship recipients Honesty McDonald, Cristian Rivera, Selin Ikiz, Kimberly Polacco, and Jonathan Seelinger into the office to interact with Local 1102 representatives and to receive their scholarships.
We are extremely proud of all our scholarship recipients and are excited for what the future holds.
Local 1102 Hosts Citizenship Clinic for Members at Flying Food Group JFK
Local 1102 recently hosted a Citizenship Clinic for their members at Flying Food Group JFK.
We are thankful for everybody that helped made this event possible. Congratulations to our members as these are the first steps towards becoming a United States Citizen.
We wish to continue to host more events like this in the future.
General Membership Meeting Now in Two Locations
We will be hosting our third general membership meeting on Wednesday, August 14. These meetings are a great way to catch up on everything going on within the union and ask any questions you may have.
To accommodate all of our members, we will be hosting meetings at both the Local 1102 and RWDSU offices.
We encourage all of our members to join and make your voices heard.

Union Supporters Gather in Albany to Support Worker Safety
Union supporters and members gathered in Albany, NY to support worker safety across many different industries. Multiple people spoke out about different issues such as retail safety, nail salon worker rights, warehouse worker rights, and working extreme temperatures.

Members at Flying Food Group Orlando Begin ENL Training
Local 1102 members at Flying Food Group in Orlando have begun English New Language training. This is a service that is open to all Local 1102 members at that location.
RWDSU Locals Traveling to Albany to Lobby for Retail Workers Safety Act
Local 1102 along with many other RWDSU Locals will be traveling to Albany on May 14 to lobby with legislators for the passing of the Retail Workers Safety Act. This bill will put in place strict guidelines for shop owners to follow that will protect retail workers and customers.
Local 1102 will continue to fight for the passing of this act.

Representatives Meet with U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand
Dozens of supporters gathered at the office of RWDSU Local 338 on Long Island to hear what United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand had to say about a variety of issues such as food insecurity and childcare. She also took time out after to discuss concerns with union members. Afterwards, Local 1102 Representatives Lori Krotz, Jack Caffey and Dave Mertz, met with Gillibrand to discuss issues directly impacting Local 1102 members.

Upcoming General Membership Meeting: May 22, 2024
Our second General Membership Meeting of 2024 will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7pm. These meetings happen quarterly and are a chance to catch up on everything going on with the union and to discuss things with unions‘ leadership. We encourage all members to join us.
Member Update: Gate Gourmet ENL Training Complete
We recently visited Local 1102 members at Gate Gourmet on the final day of their ENL training. We presented them each with a certificate to congratulate them on their hard work.
